Which knowledge fields should I share ?
All knowledge is equally welcome in our community, may it be about your profession, your home town, your opinion or even about a card trick you know well. Our advice is to share what you enjoy doing and talking about, a field in which you would like to get to know new people, to teach, study, and further expand your own knowledge skills.

What is the knowledge tree ?
The knowledge tree is the logical way knowledge is arranged within UBpedia, in the form of knowledge branches, starting from seven base branches: Professional, Sciences, Recreational, Spiritual, Abstract, News and World and further categorized in sub-branches, as needed; For example:
Professional::Food::Cooks and chefs or Recreational::Music::Guitar Playing::RockN'roll  etc.
This allows all knowledge fields to be presented and found easily.

What are the numbers shown on the search and browse pages ?
Our community is all about shared online knowledge. Our main focus is to provide the fastest way to connect people who seek knowledge with online people who are willing to share their knowledge. When you navigate to our "search" or "browse" Web pages, the website identifies you as seeking online knowledge, and displayes the current number of people online and available in the relative knowledge branch. When seeing this format: groupname ( 18 / 79 ), the meaning is 18 people are online, out of a total of 79 registered members of the groupname knowledge branch.

In the members pages, what do the Level and stars represent ?
One of the biggest advantages in a community are the members' feedbacks. As soon as a community starts interacting, natural connections are born, and people start getting to know each other. UBpedia offers a simple feedbacking system, in which the Level and stars are two indications of overall community
feedbacks.
The Level indicates the member's activity level. Each level signifies this member has helped another member one time, and can be granted once during a chat.
The stars indicate the knowledge quality - the average score of all quality votes
received by other members.
Each voting member has only one quality vote per knowledge skill, which can
be edited during chats.

|
What are the recorded chats ?
The recorded chats are previously held chats where members have answered an online question and saved the chat for public use.
The answering member is the one deciding whether or not to save the chat. When saving the chat, the member chooses the chat's title and performs basic editing for future readers to easily find the already provided solution.
* Note : Only the answering member's name is saved with chat.
* If the requesting side is a registered UBpedia member, he/she has an option
to save his/her member name as the student side of the chat ( default is
anonymous for the student side )

What is the difference between UBpedia and other questions and answers sites ?
The main difference is UBpedia specializes in online knowledge, meaning the ability to instantely find, connect and study LIVE from a knowledgeable person.
Other sites usualy provide knowledge in the form of offline content (previously written articles and answers), while our key focus is on online human contact. In the near future UBpedia members will also be able to contact a whole online knowledge group (branch), receive chosen news feeds and more.
